Game of Love

I first met Jesus P Baez in October of 2004 at Game Stop. I was a third key (lower mgt) and he was becoming a regular customer. He always dropped by to "check to see when Predator Concrete Jungle was coming out on the PS2", but little did I know he was checking me out too! From what his friends told me later on, it was love at first sight. I had no idea until one day he came in and asked about Predator again and I was trying to sell him a game reservation. There still wasn't a release date so he left and I could see his gigantic Ford F250 parked outside the door. I thought to myself "I bet that's his daddy's truck" and I reached down to put away some games then I heard the door bell go off. I thought it was another customer but when I popped up I saw it was him! I was a bit embarrassed because of what I thought to myself before and I had to remind myself that I didn't say it out loud.

Being a cute chick and working at a video game store, you would think finding a new guy would be easy, but it was way too weird. Every guy that wanted to talk to me was usually creepy or horribly lame. They either had some crappy liners or wanted to take me home right away! I was just fed up with the idea of love, relationships and men all together. I finally told myself, "I'm gonna be a nun or just go the other way! The only way I'll be with anyone is if they knock me of my feet and take my breath away all at the same time!" He was gonna have to be a real "prince charming"!

That’s when Jesus walked back into my store. I thought he forgot about another game he was looking for but instead it was me. "Would you like to have dinner some time?" I was think oh no not this again! "I don't know, I just got out of some bad relationships and I don't know if I'm ready for that." "Don't worry, it's not like I'm gonna marry you or anything like that. I just wanna take you out and show you a good time!" I just thought that was the best thing he could have ever said to me! He was straight forward, didn't give me any cheesy lines and I had never been on a "real" date before. So I said "sure why not" and he gave me his number on a Game Stop business card. Then he asked for mine and I gave him a hard time but I couldn't help myself. He looked so cute when he got all sad about it.

I gave him my number anyway even though I wasn't sure I wanted to, I had issues with weirdos calling me non-stop before. He was really cool about it and didn't call me too much but just enough times for me not to forget about him.
